Former MP Ashoka Ranwala Injured in Road Accident; Woman and Infant Also Hospitalized

A jeep driven by former Member of Parliament Ashoka Ranwala was involved in a traffic accident in the Denimulla area of Sapugaskanda at around 7:45 p.m. today (11).

The incident occurred when the jeep driven by Ranwala collided with a Maruti car traveling along the roadway.

A woman in the Maruti sustained injuries and was admitted to the Kiribathgoda Hospital, while an infant who was also in the vehicle was transferred to the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital for specialized treatment.

Ashoka Ranwala himself suffered injuries in the accident and has been admitted to the Ragama Hospital for medical care.

Police have taken into custody the jeep, the Maruti car, and a motorcycle that was also involved in the collision.
