Green Lanka Property Developer (Pvt) Ltd (GLPL), owner of Green Lanka Towers and an established player in Sri Lanka’s commercial real estate sector for more than three decades, is entering a new phase of growth focused on strategic equity restructuring, potential capital raising and portfolio expansion.

The company has strengthened its balance sheet through capital optimisation, securing 100% unencumbered equity in its flagship Green Lanka Towers property on Nawam Mawatha, Colombo 02.

As part of its next stage of development, GLPL is exploring new business opportunities while evaluating potential avenues to raise fresh capital, including a possible investment partnership with long-standing business partner Dato Sri Vijay Eswaran.

Green Lanka Property Developer Managing Director Raju Radha said the company is looking beyond conventional approaches to real estate as it prepares for its next phase of growth.

“Real estate is no longer simply about bricks, buildings, and locations. It is about understanding what businesses need to become more successful and creating environments that support that ambition. Our journey has given us a deep understanding of shipping, property, businesses, and the importance of relationships. As we look ahead, we are taking steps to explore new avenues of expansion and raise fresh capital to position the company for its next phase of growth,” Radha said.

He also highlighted the possibility of raising new capital alongside Dato Sri Vijay Eswaran, with whom he has maintained a business relationship for more than 25 years.

Radha noted that Eswaran has maintained a strong interest in Sri Lanka and has invested in the country during challenging periods, driven in part by his personal connection to Sri Lanka and his belief in its long-term economic potential.

He described Eswaran as an international investor with business operations spanning 45 countries, adding that his global experience and broader perspective could bring additional strategic value to a potential partnership with GLPL.

Radha further said Eswaran’s long-standing commitment to Sri Lanka and his confidence in the country’s future could be particularly relevant as the economy enters a new phase of transformation.

The potential capital-raising initiative would provide GLPL with additional financial capacity to pursue new development opportunities, strengthen its existing asset portfolio and capitalise on emerging opportunities within Colombo’s commercial real estate market.

A potential partnership between Radha and Eswaran would combine GLPL’s established domestic real estate presence with Eswaran’s international business experience and investment capabilities, potentially providing fresh strategic direction as Sri Lanka’s property sector gains renewed momentum.
