Toyota Lanka (Pvt) Ltd has strengthened its presence in Kurunegala with the opening of a new Body & Paint Centre and the groundbreaking of a new General Service Facility, marking another milestone in the company’s islandwide expansion.
The two developments were inaugurated on August 13, 2026, further expanding Toyota Lanka’s after-sales service network and bringing professional vehicle care and maintenance closer to customers in Kurunegala and surrounding areas.
With more than three decades of operations in Sri Lanka, Toyota Lanka has continued to expand its presence across the country, providing customers with trusted after-sales services and mobility solutions. The company established its presence in Kurunegala in 2008, strengthening its connection with the Athugalpura community.
The newly opened Body & Paint Centre provides customers with professional vehicle body repair and paint services, backed by Toyota’s standards of Quality, Durability, Reliability and Safety.
Meanwhile, the new General Service Facility, once completed, will further expand access to vehicle maintenance and after-sales support, providing customers in the region with a more comprehensive service experience.
The ceremonies were attended by Toyota Lanka Chairman Masaaki Kawabata and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Manohara Atukorala, together with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Kurunegala, customers, business partners, banking and insurance representatives and other invited guests. Religious observances and blessings were also held to mark the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Masaaki Kawabata highlighted Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda’s concept of being “Best in Town,” noting that Toyota aims to become an integral part of the communities in which it operates and contribute to their development.
He added that Toyota Lanka considers it a privilege to strengthen its relationship with the Kurunegala community and continue providing customers in the region with reliable services.
Manohara Atukorala said Toyota Lanka’s continued network expansion is aimed at making professional vehicle services and customer care more accessible across Sri Lanka. He noted that every new and upgraded facility brings the company closer to the communities it serves.
As part of its expansion plans, Toyota Lanka aims to operate 30 facilities across Sri Lanka by the end of 2026, further strengthening its nationwide service network.
The company’s operations are also guided by its LIFE philosophy – Loyalty, Integrity, Fairness and Ethics, which underpins its efforts to build long-term relationships with customers, employees, business partners and communities.
Beyond mobility, Toyota Lanka continues to contribute to national skills development through its collaboration with the Ministry of Education, supporting technical education and future-ready skills development among young Sri Lankans.
