Jazeera Airways, Kuwait's leading low-cost carrier, has announced a significant expansion of its Egypt network by adding 16 weekly flights, further strengthening air connectivity between Kuwait and one of its largest and most important travel markets.
The increased frequencies will serve Sharm El Sheikh, Alexandria, Sohag, and Hurghada, bringing Jazeera Airways' total operations to 126 direct weekly flights between Kuwait and Egypt. The airline now serves eight Egyptian destinations, including Cairo, Sphinx, Assiut, Luxor, Alexandria, Sohag, Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheikh.
Kuwait is home to one of the largest Egyptian expatriate communities in the Gulf, generating strong year-round demand for travel. In response, Jazeera Airways has continued to expand its Egypt network, offering passengers more direct connections and greater travel flexibility.
The additional services are expected to benefit travellers visiting friends and relatives, as well as those travelling for business, employment, education, and tourism, while further strengthening the longstanding ties between Kuwait and Egypt.
Commenting on the expansion, Paul Carroll, Chief Commercial Officer of Jazeera Airways, said Egypt remains one of the airline's most important markets, with consistently strong demand from both leisure travellers and those visiting friends and relatives (VFR). He noted that the increased frequencies to Sharm El Sheikh, Alexandria, Sohag, and Hurghada will provide customers with greater flexibility, more travel options, and improved connectivity, while reflecting the airline's continued investment in high-demand markets.
Flydubai Resumes Direct Flights to Budapest
flydubai has announced the resumption of its direct flights between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD), with services restarting on 31 July.
The reinstated route restores non-stop connectivity between the United Arab Emirates and Hungary, catering to growing demand for leisure, business, and visiting friends and relatives (VFR) travel during the busy summer season. Passengers will also benefit from convenient onward connections through Dubai to flydubai's extensive network of more than 120 destinations.
The return of the Budapest service reinforces flydubai's continued commitment to Central and Eastern Europe, building on the success of the route since it was first launched in 2021. The airline views Budapest as one of its key European destinations, reflecting the strong economic and cultural relationship between the UAE and Hungary.
Commenting on the resumption, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai, said the return of direct flights demonstrates the airline's long-term commitment to the Hungarian market while strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Jeyhun Efendi, Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, said the resumed service will create new opportunities for tourism, business, and trade ahead of the autumn and winter travel seasons.
Passengers travelling on the route will also benefit from flydubai's strategic codeshare partnership with Emirates, offering seamless connections, integrated itineraries, and access to a wider network spanning the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Southeast Asia.
