Prime Lands has marked a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s real estate industry by becoming the country’s first real estate developer to receive YouTube’s prestigious Silver Play Button after exceeding 100,000 subscribers. The achievement comes as Prime Group celebrates its 30th anniversary, adding a notable digital milestone to three decades of growth, innovation and industry leadership.

The Silver Play Button, awarded under YouTube’s Creator Awards programme, recognises channels that achieve major subscriber milestones. For Prime Lands, the achievement represents more than audience growth. It reflects the company’s transition from conventional marketing to a digital-first strategy, using content, technology and storytelling to reshape how Sri Lankans discover, explore and engage with real estate opportunities. Today, the company’s YouTube community has grown to more than 600,000 subscribers, strengthening its digital presence and connection with property seekers across the country.

For Prime Lands, the Silver Play Button also represents the trust developed among its growing digital audience. Through informative and engaging content covering properties, developments and the purchasing journey, the company has sought to make real estate research more accessible, allowing prospective buyers to explore their options and make more informed decisions.

Commenting on the achievement, Ruminda Randeniya, CEO/Executive Director of Prime Lands (Pvt) Ltd, said, “Our strategy has always been to empower buyers with clarity and confidence. Through our YouTube journey, we have transformed the way people approach real estate decisions by providing immersive and insightful content that helps them visualise opportunities, understand market dynamics and make informed choices. Today, Prime Lands has built one of the largest and most engaged digital audiences in Sri Lanka’s property sector and achieved a milestone that no other Sri Lankan real estate brand has accomplished. By combining digital storytelling with strategic foresight, we aim to showcase properties while pioneering a new way for buyers to explore real estate opportunities.”

YouTube has become a key component of Prime Lands’ digital engagement strategy, changing how prospective customers experience and evaluate properties. The channel features immersive property tours, detailed walkthroughs, construction progress updates and insights into surrounding neighbourhoods, providing viewers with a closer look at developments before making purchasing decisions.

By placing real properties and authentic project progress at the centre of its content, Prime Lands focuses on transparency and informative storytelling rather than relying solely on traditional promotional messaging. This approach gives prospective buyers greater control over their research while helping them gain a clearer understanding of available properties and make decisions with greater confidence.
HNB Supports SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka’s Cultural Evening Showcasing Young Local Talent
HNB PLC served as the Main Sponsor of the SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka Cultural Evening, supporting an event that provided children and young participants with a valuable platform to showcase their talents through music, dance and a diverse range of traditional and contemporary artistic performances.

The cultural evening highlighted the creativity and abilities of young participants while encouraging them to build confidence, express themselves and develop a deeper appreciation for Sri Lanka’s rich and diverse cultural heritage. HNB’s involvement reflects its continued commitment to youth empowerment and its efforts to contribute towards building stronger and more inclusive communities.

Through its support for the event, HNB helped create an environment where children could explore their creativity, share their abilities and develop important life skills through artistic expression.

“Every child should have the opportunity to discover their potential, develop their talents and grow with confidence. Supporting initiatives that nurture creativity, cultural appreciation and a strong sense of community is an important part of building an inclusive future for Sri Lanka. Through our partnership with SOS Children’s Villages, HNB was pleased to support an initiative that enabled children to express themselves, develop valuable life skills and aspire towards a brighter future,” said HNB Chief Operating Officer Sanjay Wijemanne.

SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka has supported children by providing stable, family-like environments for the past 45 years. The organisation currently operates six Children’s Villages and cares for more than 650 children. Through its Direct Family Strengthening Programmes, it also provides support to more than 4,500 children who are at risk of losing parental care.

“Investing in children is an investment in Sri Lanka’s future, and creating opportunities for them to grow with confidence, creativity and dignity is a responsibility we share as a nation. We are deeply grateful to HNB for supporting our Cultural Evening and helping us create a platform where children could celebrate their talents and cultural heritage. Partnerships such as this demonstrate the meaningful impact that can be achieved when the corporate sector and community organisations come together with a shared commitment to building a stronger future for every child,” said Divakar Ratnadurai, National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Sri Lanka.
