Lankan Fest 2026 Aims to Strengthen Sri Lanka–New Zealand Business and Cultural Ties
The official press conference announcing Lankan Fest New Zealand 2026 was held at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo, bringing together media representatives, sponsors, special guests, entrepreneurs and members of Sri Lanka’s business community.

Scheduled to take place on 1 November 2026 in Auckland, New Zealand, Lankan Fest aims to showcase Sri Lanka’s culture, tourism, businesses and products while creating new opportunities to strengthen economic, business and community connections between Sri Lanka and New Zealand.

New Zealand High Commissioner Welcomes Initiative

Speaking at the launch, New Zealand High Commissioner to Sri Lanka David Pine welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that Lankan Fest could become a regular event on the New Zealand calendar.

“Here we are at the launch of this great new event on the calendar, and hopefully building a regular event where we can showcase to all New Zealanders the wonderful attractions of Sri Lanka and its culture,” he said.

He also welcomed the collaboration between Krystal Events and Home Lands, noting that the partnership could create positive outcomes for both countries.

Creating Opportunities for Businesses

Nishantha Ariyawansa, Organiser of Lankan Fest New Zealand and Founder of Krystal Events New Zealand, said the inaugural event would provide a platform for businesses and communities in both countries to connect.

“This is the first time Lankan Fest is being held in New Zealand, providing an opportunity for New Zealand businesses to promote Sri Lanka and Sri Lankan businesses to connect with New Zealand,” he said.

He confirmed that arrangements are in place for the event to be held in Auckland on 1 November 2026.

Showcasing Sri Lanka in New Zealand

Lankan Fest 2026 is expected to bring together Sri Lankan and New Zealand businesses, entrepreneurs, communities and consumers, creating a platform to promote Sri Lankan products, tourism destinations, cultural experiences and business opportunities.

By taking Sri Lankan culture and commercial offerings to New Zealand, the festival aims to strengthen people-to-people connections while opening doors for greater business collaboration and trade between the two countries.
