IMRA Foundation Guarantee Ltd. has officially opened applications for the third edition of the IMRA Awards 2026, inviting outstanding Muslim women across Sri Lanka to gain national recognition for their achievements, leadership and contribution to society. Applications for the awards will close on 1 July 2026.

The IMRA Awards 2026 ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 6 September 2026 at 7.00 p.m. at The Kingsbury Colombo.

Established to redefine perceptions and increase the visibility of Muslim women in Sri Lanka, the IMRA Awards celebrates women who have excelled in their professions, built successful enterprises, advanced knowledge and created meaningful social impact, often without widespread recognition. The initiative also aims to strengthen equality and diversity by highlighting role models, encouraging greater understanding across communities and building a lasting national network of inspiring achievers.

Commenting on the launch, Fathima Aziz said the awards serve as a national platform to recognise women whose work is already raising standards in their respective fields. She encouraged women from across the country, as well as institutions and communities, to nominate deserving professionals, leaders and changemakers.

The awards are open to Sri Lankan citizens, with application forms available in Sinhala, Tamil and English. The selection process will be conducted through a transparent framework, with KPMG serving as the knowledge partner overseeing the technical evaluation process. An eminent panel of judges representing diverse communities will shortlist finalists, who will then face an interview panel before the final winners are selected.

Award categories for IMRA Awards 2026 include Legal, Healthcare, Banking and Finance, Education, Women in Media including Print and Digital, Hospitality and Tourism, Architecture, Arts and Culture, and Entrepreneurship.

Applications can be submitted through the official form: IMRA Awards 2026 Application Form

The call for applications follows the successful IMRA Awards 2025, held on 7 April 2025, where Harini Amarasuriya attended as Chief Guest and presented awards to women achievers from a wide range of sectors.
Fintrex Finance PLC and APTS have officially marked the successful GO-LIVE of the Nimble Core Banking System powered by Craft Silicon
Fintrex Finance PLC has achieved a major milestone in its digital transformation journey with the successful implementation and GO-LIVE of its new core banking system, led by APTS as the local implementation partner.

Branded as “Nimble” and developed in collaboration with Craft Silicon, the new platform represents more than a system upgrade, marking a strategic move towards smarter, more agile and customer-centric banking services. The initiative reflects a strong partnership built on expertise, innovation and a shared commitment to digital excellence.

The transformation journey began in September 2025 with the signing of a mutual understanding agreement between APTS, Fintrex Finance and Craft Silicon. Over the following six months, the three organisations worked closely across consultation, system design, development, testing and deployment to ensure a seamless transition to the new platform.

A major milestone was reached on 2 April 2026 when Phase One of the Nimble Core Banking System officially went live. The successful implementation highlighted the strong collaboration, precision and commitment demonstrated throughout the project, while ensuring uninterrupted service delivery to customers.

With the deployment of Nimble, Fintrex Finance now benefits from enhanced operational capabilities, improved security, stronger connectivity and a scalable digital infrastructure. The system is expected to support faster processing, more efficient data management and an improved customer experience, further strengthening the company’s position within an increasingly interconnected financial services landscape.
