As Sri Lanka's leading activewear brand, CARNAGE is expanding its commitment to sport beyond performance apparel with the launch of the Carnage Athlete Foundation, an initiative dedicated to nurturing the next generation of athletes capable of representing Sri Lanka on the global stage.
Launched under the theme "Building the Next Generation of Champion Athletes," the Foundation reflects CARNAGE's long-term vision of identifying, supporting, and developing exceptional sporting talent across the country. Through strategic investment in athletes, the Foundation seeks to empower individuals who demonstrate not only outstanding physical ability but also resilience, character, leadership, and the determination to inspire others.
The initiative is designed to provide emerging and established athletes with the support they need to achieve success at both national and international levels, reinforcing CARNAGE's commitment to the advancement of Sri Lankan sport.
Marking its official launch, the Carnage Athlete Foundation has introduced three exceptional athletes whose journeys embody the values and aspirations of the initiative.
Leading the inaugural group is Sujan Perera, Captain of the Sri Lanka National Football Team. Widely respected for his leadership both on and off the field, Perera exemplifies technical excellence, professionalism, and an unwavering competitive spirit. His captaincy reflects the qualities of accountability, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
Also joining the Foundation is Khalid Osman, a triathlete, Ironman 70.3 competitor, and Resilience Ambassador whose extraordinary story has inspired many. After losing his eyesight at the age of 26, Khalid rebuilt his life through determination and resilience. Today, he is recognised as the first visually impaired Sri Lankan to complete five Ironman 70.3 races. His remarkable achievements include competing in endurance events and marathons across Paris, Singapore, Japan, Jordan, and Sri Lanka.
Reflecting on his journey, Khalid said, "I don't compete despite my challenges. I compete because of them."
The Foundation also welcomes Darren Sonal Tranchell, one of Sri Lanka's promising young rowing talents. Competing successfully across multiple junior and open categories at both national and international levels, Sonal has earned recognition for his discipline, consistency, and dedication to continuous improvement. By supporting him at this pivotal stage of his career, the Foundation aims to help unlock his full potential as he continues his journey towards sporting excellence.
Through the Carnage Athlete Foundation, CARNAGE is reaffirming its belief that investing in people is the most meaningful way to shape the future of sport. By empowering athletes with the resources, recognition, and support they need to succeed, the Foundation aspires to cultivate a new generation of champions who will proudly represent Sri Lanka on the world stage.
