Perodua has announced that the QV-E is now priced at RM93,999, down from RM109,700, following improved local parts localisation.

For a limited time until 30 September 2026, customers can also purchase the QV-E with the battery included at a promotional price of RM87,499.

Alternatively, the Battery-as-a-Service (BAAS) option is available, where the vehicle body-only price is reduced to RM63,499, with a battery subscription fee of RM215 per month for nine years.

In addition, Perodua has introduced further benefits for existing owners, including special refunds and reduced monthly subscription rates. The increased localisation in Malaysia is also expected to improve spare parts availability and affordability for future QV-E owners, while supporting local employment. Perodua has also guaranteed to buy back the battery at the end of its lifecycle for customers who purchase the battery-inclusive option.

However, despite these updates, the QV-E remains a B-segment EV, competing with models like the Proton e.MAS 5. Would this new pricing make you consider buying it as your next EV?

Recently, DJI filed a lawsuit against Insta360, claiming that the Insta360 Luna Ultra closely resembles its Osmo Pocket series. A few days later, Insta360 countersued DJI, alleging infringement of its gimbal and other technology patents.

Both companies are well known for producing stabilization gimbals used in video recording, including products like the Luna Ultra and Osmo Pocket series.

DJI’s position:
DJI claims that Insta360’s Luna series copies the design of its Osmo Pocket lineup. It has also filed a separate lawsuit over four utility patents, including those related to control devices and systems. DJI is seeking a permanent ban on the Luna Ultra in the United States.

Insta360’s response:
Insta360 has countersued DJI, accusing it of infringing on two of its patents covering gimbal stabilization and 360° camera technology. The company also denies any wrongdoing, stating that the Luna Ultra is the result of “years of independent R&D.”
