Yamamoto Motor Corporation, the authorised agent for VOGE in Sri Lanka, has officially opened the new VOGE Experience Centre in Bambalapitiya, marking a key step in the brand’s expansion within the country’s premium motorcycle market.

Designed to offer more than a conventional showroom experience, the new centre provides motorcycle enthusiasts with a dedicated environment to explore VOGE’s motorcycle range, learn about its engineering innovations and advanced technologies, and experience the brand first-hand. The facility also offers professional customer assistance and comprehensive after-sales services, reinforcing VOGE’s focus on delivering a premium ownership experience.

Since its international debut in 2018, VOGE has expanded into more than 60 countries across Europe, Asia, Latin America and other global markets. The brand combines extensive motorcycle manufacturing experience with advanced technical development capabilities, drawing on engineering expertise further strengthened by its longstanding collaboration with BMW.

VOGE’s international growth is also reflected in its sales performance. The brand recorded global sales of 106,389 motorcycles in 2025, while sales reached 92,237 units by the end of July 2026, representing a 43.2% year-on-year increase.

One of the key models showcased at the new Experience Centre is the VOGE R 125 S, which combines sporty styling, modern technology and practical features for everyday riding. The motorcycle is powered by a 124.8cc single-cylinder, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine paired with a six-speed gearbox and electronic fuel injection.

Its features include a 7-inch colour LED instrument display, full LED lighting, a front camera, disc brakes with dual-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS), upside-down front suspension and a rear single-shock suspension system, offering a combination of performance, control and convenience.

Commenting on the opening, Rajeev Chandrakumar, Chief Executive Officer of Yamamoto Motor Corporation, said, “The launch of the VOGE Experience Centre marks an important milestone in our commitment to bringing internationally recognised motorcycle brands and a truly premium ownership experience to Sri Lankan riders. VOGE stands out for its contemporary design, engineering excellence and advanced technology. The opening of the VOGE Experience Centre establishes a dedicated destination for motorcycle enthusiasts in Sri Lanka, enabling customers to connect more closely with the brand and explore its products in a specialised setting. The investment also reflects Yamamoto Motor Corporation’s continued commitment to introducing high-quality international motorcycle brands to the local market, backed by reliable after-sales services and long-term customer support.
Street Burger Marks 10 Years of Growth from Food Truck to Homegrown Success
What started as a food truck along Marine Drive has evolved into one of Colombo’s recognised homegrown casual-dining brands, reflecting a decade of Sri Lankan entrepreneurship, innovation and determination. This October, Street Burger celebrates its 10th anniversary, marking ten years of growth and its distinctive take on the gourmet burger experience.

Founded in 2016, Street Burger entered Colombo’s dining scene when the market was largely dominated by international fast-food chains. Its founders set out to introduce an accessible yet elevated burger experience, built on fresh ingredients, quality and flavours tailored to local tastes.

The brand was established by Tharique Shibly and Masoon Samoon, co-founders of Street Burger and its latest food venture, Adikted. Drawing on their overseas experience in the food and beverage industry and recognising an opportunity in the local market, the duo combined their complementary skills, passion for food and entrepreneurial ambitions to bring their concept to life.

Rather than investing in a conventional restaurant from the outset, the founders launched Street Burger as a food truck, giving them the opportunity to engage directly with customers and test their offering. The approach quickly gained traction, with growing word-of-mouth recommendations and queues forming around the truck. As demand increased, expanding into permanent restaurant locations became the natural next step.

As the business entered new phases of development, Zimran Zaffarulla and Shazad Fauz joined the Street Burger team, bringing additional experience and fresh perspectives to its growth. The brand has since expanded to eight standalone restaurants and introduced Adikted as an adjacent food venture.

Despite its expansion, Street Burger remains committed to the principles that shaped its beginnings: fresh local produce, quality ingredients, consistency and a distinctly Sri Lankan interpretation of the classic burger.

Reflecting on the milestone, Street Burger co-founders Tharique Shibly and Masoon Samoon said, “What began as a food truck and a vision to provide easily accessible but elevated food for customers looking for quality casual dining has grown into something so much larger. Every restaurant, every customer and every person who has been part of Street Burger has contributed to that journey. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who believed in us, supported us and grew with us over the last decade.”
