Volvo Car Malaysia has officially launched its flagship seven-seat electric SUV, the locally assembled Volvo EX90, with prices starting from RM 428,888. The new EV comes with an upgraded 800V electrical architecture, a Twin Motor AWD powertrain producing 680 hp and 870 Nm, and an estimated driving range of up to 617 km on a single charge.
Customers who are among the first 100 to place their bookings from 8 September 2026 can receive an RM 25,000 cash rebate, along with a complimentary Volvo Wallbox valued at RM 3,990.
Faster Charging With 800V Technology
The EX90's upgraded 800V architecture supports DC fast charging at speeds of up to 350kW, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes.
Powering the vehicle's advanced computing systems is NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Orin, working alongside Volvo's proprietary Superset technology stack. This setup is designed to support faster and more frequent over-the-air software updates while improving the vehicle's digital capabilities.
Safety remains a major focus, with Volvo's Safe Space Technology combining exterior radar and ultrasonic sensors with interior infrared and submillimetre radar systems. These technologies are designed to monitor the driver's attention while also detecting passenger movement inside the cabin.
The EX90 also comes equipped with Pilot Assist and Park Pilot Assist for enhanced driving and parking assistance.
Inside the cabin, drivers and passengers get access to built-in Google services through a 9-inch driver display, 14.5-inch central touchscreen, and head-up display. Other premium features include a Bowers & Wilkins High Fidelity Audio System, an electrochromic glass roof, and a choice of two Nappa leather interior options.
2027 Volvo ES90 Updates
Alongside the EX90 launch, Volvo Car Malaysia also announced several updates for the 2027 model year Volvo ES90 electric saloon.
The refreshed model gains new exterior color options, including Mulberry and Aurora Silver, as well as 21-inch Glossy-Silver wheels and wireless Android Auto support.
Customers who book the ES90 from September 2026 can also benefit from cash rebates of up to RM 17,600, adding further value to Volvo's expanding electric vehicle lineup in Malaysia.
