Huawei hosted its “Now Is Your Spark” global product launch event in Bangkok, introducing a new lineup of connected wearables designed for lifestyle-focused consumers. The showcase featured the latest HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series and the premium HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Spring Edition, further expanding the company’s wearable ecosystem.

WATCH FIT 5 Series brings refined design and enhanced health features

The new Huawei WATCH FIT 5 Series continues Huawei’s signature square smartwatch design while introducing upgraded finishes and expanded colour options. The standard model comes in Silver, Purple, White, Black, and Green, while the Pro variant is available in Orange, White, and Black, offering a more sport-oriented aesthetic.

The Pro version features enhanced design detailing, including an oil-filling colour technique for deeper visual texture and an Aerospace-Grade Nanoceramic Metal finish on the White edition for a more premium feel.

Beyond design improvements, the WATCH FIT 5 Series introduces advanced health tracking capabilities. The Pro model includes pulse wave-based atrial fibrillation (A-fib) alerts, ECG monitoring, arterial stiffness detection, and Huawei’s new Diabetes Risk Study feature—positioning the device as a comprehensive health companion rather than a standard fitness tracker.

Huawei has also introduced a new mini-workout watch face, encouraging users to complete short guided exercises throughout the day. The feature is supported by a panda-themed virtual assistant that provides motivational prompts, with gamified rewards including city and landmark-inspired watch faces unlocked through activity milestones.

WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Spring Edition highlights luxury craftsmanship

Alongside the WATCH FIT lineup, Huawei unveiled the Huawei WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Spring Edition, created in collaboration with jewellery designer Francesca Amfitheatrof.

Inspired by spring aesthetics, the premium smartwatch incorporates 99 natural diamonds and diamond-cut sapphire glass, blending high-end craftsmanship with advanced wearable technology. The model reinforces Huawei’s positioning in the luxury smartwatch segment, combining design artistry with connected functionality.

Expanding Huawei’s wearable ecosystem

With these latest launches, Huawei continues to strengthen its presence in the global wearable market by combining health-focused innovation, lifestyle features, and premium design. The new devices reflect a broader trend toward smarter, more personalised, and more health-integrated wearable technology.
Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and 4 Gen 5 for Next-Gen Midrange Smartphones
Qualcomm has officially introduced two new mobile chipsets — the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 — designed to bring faster performance, improved gaming capabilities, and enhanced AI features to more affordable smartphones.

The new platforms are expected to power upcoming devices from major brands such as HONOR, OPPO, realme, and Redmi in the second half of 2026.

Flagship-like features moving into midrange devices

With the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, Qualcomm is bringing more premium-level capabilities into the upper midrange segment. The chipset supports faster gaming performance, smoother user interface animations, upgraded AI-powered imaging, and next-generation connectivity, including Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0.

The Snapdragon 4 Gen 5, aimed at entry-level and budget devices, also introduces meaningful improvements over its predecessor. Qualcomm highlights stronger GPU performance, support for up to 90FPS gaming, and improved power efficiency for longer battery life.

Smoother experience with new UI enhancements

A key feature across both chipsets is Snapdragon Smooth Motion UI, designed to enhance animation fluidity, app responsiveness, and overall system navigation. Qualcomm says this technology aims to make even affordable smartphones feel more premium in everyday use.

Impact on the Malaysian smartphone market

In markets like Malaysia, where midrange and budget smartphones dominate, these new chipsets are expected to play a major role. Devices priced between RM700 and RM1,800 are likely to benefit from improved performance, better cameras, enhanced multitasking, and expanded AI features without moving into flagship pricing.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 is expected to be particularly strong for gaming-focused midrange smartphones, while the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 will help improve the overall experience for entry-level 5G devices. These chipsets are expected to appear in consumer devices starting in the second half of 2026.
