Previously announced by Huawei, the HUAWEI Pura X View has now officially launched in China, with prices starting at CNY 5,999 (approximately RM3,615). Designed with a distinctive wide candybar form factor, the smartphone features Huawei’s Kirin 9030S chipset, HarmonyOS 7, a large 7,000mAh battery, and a 6.39-inch display with a unique 16:9.5 aspect ratio.

The HUAWEI Pura X View is available in Black, Grey, Red and White, although Huawei has yet to announce Malaysian pricing or a local release date.

A wider slab-style smartphone

The device comes with 12GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. It measures 144.1 x 87.0 x 6.68mm and weighs 201g, while being powered by Huawei’s flagship Kirin 9030S chipset.

The display is a 6.39-inch OLED panel with a 2232 x 1320 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. It also supports up to 6,500 nits peak brightness, 2,160Hz PWM dimming and a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio, with slim 1.05mm bezels and Kunlun Glass protection.

Photography is handled by a triple-camera setup housed in the pill-shaped rear camera module. It includes a 200MP Ultra-Lighting main camera with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture, a 50MP Ultra-Lighting periscope telephoto camera with OIS, 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, as well as an 8MP ultra-wide macro camera. A 50MP Ultra-Clear Portrait camera is positioned on the front.

With its unusually wide display and high-end specifications, the HUAWEI Pura X View takes a different approach to the traditional smartphone form factor. For now, however, consumers outside China will have to wait for Huawei to reveal whether the device will receive a wider international rollout.
Xiaomi 18 Fold Launches in China with XRING O3 AI Chip and Leica 200MP Cameras from ~RM6,628
Xiaomi has officially launched its wide-screen foldable smartphone, the Xiaomi 18 Fold, in China, with prices starting at CNY 10,999 (approximately RM6,628). The device features a 7.58-inch foldable display, a 5.38-inch cover screen when folded, Xiaomi’s new XRING O3 AI chipset, a 6,000mAh battery with 67W wired and 50W wireless charging, and a Leica-powered 200MP triple-camera system.

There is currently no confirmed information on Malaysian pricing or a local release date.

The Xiaomi 18 Fold is offered with 12GB or 16GB of RAM, paired with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. Its rear camera setup combines a 200MP Leica main camera with OIS, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera. Two 16MP cameras are also included for selfies and video calls.

Xiaomi has equipped the foldable with its Dragon Bone Hinge design, along with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and IP58/IP59-rated protection against water and dust. Colour options include Black, Red and White, as well as a special Silicon Nitride Ceramic Edition.

At the heart of the device is Xiaomi’s self-developed XRING O3 AI flagship processor, built on a 3nm process. Beyond performance, the chipset enables a range of AI-powered functions, including the AI Inspiration Ball, while the device supports up to six-screen split multitasking.
