Samsung Sri Lanka recently brought together its retail partners from across the country for the Retailer Summit 2026, an event dedicated to recognising outstanding performance, celebrating long-standing partnerships and looking ahead to future growth.

The summit welcomed leading retail partners from John Keells Office Automation (JKOA) and Softlogic Mobile Distribution (SMD) for two days of recognition, networking and collaboration.

The event recognised retailers whose commitment, sales performance and customer service have contributed to strengthening Samsung’s presence across Sri Lanka.

A key highlight of the summit was the presentation of the National Dealer Excellence Awards, honouring the country’s top Samsung retail partners for their exceptional sales performance.

The awards were presented to Buyzone Mobile (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo, which secured Islandwide Rank 1; The SmartPhone Shop (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo, which achieved Islandwide Rank 2; Celltronics (Pvt) Ltd, Colombo Metro, ranked Islandwide Rank 4; and Thilakawardhana Cellular, Gampaha, ranked Islandwide Rank 5.

Samsung also recognised top-performing regional dealers across the country, celebrating retail excellence in individual districts and acknowledging the important role each partner plays in making Samsung products accessible to customers nationwide.

Beyond recognising achievements, the summit provided a platform for Samsung and its retail partners to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas and celebrate the people contributing to the brand’s continued retail success in Sri Lanka.

Commenting on the occasion, Samsung Sri Lanka Managing Director SangHwa Song said, “Sri Lanka’s retailers have stood by Samsung through every market condition, and this summit was about standing up for them. The strength of our brand in this country is because of the strength of our retail partnerships. As we enter the era of Galaxy AI and a connected ecosystem, we will keep investing in our partners’ growth. Because when they grow, Samsung grows.”

The Retailer Summit 2026 reflects Samsung Sri Lanka’s continued focus on building strong retail partnerships as it prepares for the next phase of growth and innovation.
Gunda Power CSR Initiative Illuminates Children’s Futures Through Solar Energy
Gunda Power believes that true power extends beyond the electricity generated, encompassing the hope, opportunities and positive change created in people’s lives.

Through its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, ‘From Light to Life’, Gunda Power is working to support rural education in Sri Lanka by providing schools and communities with clean, reliable and sustainable solar energy solutions.

According to the latest School Census, Sri Lanka has 10,047 government schools, comprising 396 National Schools and 9,651 Provincial Schools, serving approximately 3.7 million students.

Although many schools have access to electricity, some rural and under-resourced institutions continue to face challenges arising from financial constraints, high electricity costs and limited access to modern educational technology. These factors can affect students’ ability to learn in safe, innovative and technology-enabled environments.

Recognising the importance of providing equal educational opportunities, Gunda Power introduced ‘From Light to Life’ as a long-term social transformation initiative that extends beyond the installation of solar panels.

The programme brings together clean energy, educational development, environmental responsibility and community participation to create sustainable benefits for schools, students and communities.

By supporting schools with renewable energy solutions, the initiative aims to reduce energy-related challenges while creating an environment where students can access better learning opportunities and engage with modern educational technologies.

Through ‘From Light to Life’, Gunda Power continues to demonstrate how renewable energy can extend beyond powering buildings to help create brighter educational opportunities and a more sustainable future for Sri Lanka’s next generation.
