Hayleys Electronics Limited, in partnership with SolaX Power, brought together more than 300 industry professionals and stakeholders in Colombo for ‘Unlocking the Power of Tomorrow’, an exclusive knowledge-sharing event focused on the future of intelligent energy solutions.
Held at The Kingsbury Colombo, the event highlighted the latest developments in smart inverter technology, hybrid energy storage and intelligent energy management. Discussions explored how emerging technologies are reshaping the way energy is generated, stored and managed, while highlighting opportunities for more efficient and adaptable energy systems.
The Colombo event marks the first phase of an islandwide awareness and knowledge-sharing programme jointly organised by Hayleys Electronics and SolaX Power. The programme will continue in the coming weeks with sessions planned in Galle, Negombo, Kurunegala, Jaffna and Trincomalee, extending access to the latest developments in smart energy technologies to stakeholders across the country.
SolaX Power, identified by the companies as Sri Lanka’s No. 1 selling battery and inverter brand, is represented exclusively in Sri Lanka by Hayleys Electronics as its authorised dealer.
Hayleys Fentons Managing Director Hasith Prematillake said the transition towards smarter energy requires systems that are more intelligent, efficient and adaptable. He noted that the collaboration with SolaX Power brings global technological expertise closer to Sri Lankan stakeholders while supporting the country’s move towards a smarter and more sustainable energy future.
Hayleys Electronics Limited Chief Operating Officer Clyde Gabriel said the event reflects the company’s commitment to increasing awareness of technologies shaping the next generation of energy solutions. He added that direct knowledge-sharing with SolaX Power’s global team is intended to provide industry professionals with insights into smart energy technologies and strengthen access to internationally recognised solutions in Sri Lanka.
Priyanthini McNair Joins DMSL Board as Independent Non-Executive Director
Digital Mobility Solutions Lanka PLC (DMSL), the company behind Sri Lanka’s homegrown digital platform PickMe, has appointed experienced international banking professional Priyanthini McNair as an Independent Non-Executive Director.
McNair brings more than 25 years of international experience spanning the UK, Hong Kong, the MENAT region, India and Singapore. She is also the founder of APG Management Consulting.
Prior to her appointment at DMSL, McNair served as Global Co-Head of Corporate Coverage and Senior Managing Director at Emirates NBD Group. In this role, she was responsible for international corporate banking, overseeing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio and global sector coverage across seven countries.
Welcoming the appointment, DMSL Founder and CEO Jiffry Zulfer said McNair’s extensive banking experience and international exposure would provide valuable expertise as the company enters its next phase of development.
He added that her background would be particularly relevant as DMSL continues to expand its existing product verticals and explores adjacent opportunities to support future growth. Her appointment as an Independent Non-Executive Director is also expected to contribute to the company’s governance framework and strengthen confidence among investors and other stakeholders.
Before joining Emirates NBD, McNair spent more than two decades at HSBC, holding several senior leadership positions. Her roles included Regional Head of Coverage for Commercial Banking across MENAT, based in Dubai; UK Head of Leveraged Corporates in London; and Global Head of Business Development and Chief of Staff for Large Corporates across the UK and Hong Kong.
The appointment adds extensive international banking and corporate leadership experience to DMSL’s Board as the company continues to develop its digital mobility and technology-focused businesses.
