Networking events and business meetings often result in a collection of physical business cards that are eventually forgotten, along with valuable connections and opportunities that may never be followed up. Recognising this challenge, Synapseus Technologies has launched TapID, a Sri Lankan-built digital business card and relationship management platform designed to transform how professionals network, connect, and build lasting business relationships.

Going beyond the functionality of a conventional NFC business card, TapID aims to turn every introduction into a meaningful and trackable connection. Users can simply tap their NFC card to share a professional digital profile and instantly save contact details. The platform then supports continued engagement through notes, reminders, and follow-up actions, helping users maintain relationships beyond the initial interaction.

TapID also provides searchable and exportable networking histories, while organisations can access team-level analytics designed to make networking activities more measurable, organised, and efficient.

Developed with diverse users in mind and with a particular focus on Sri Lanka’s workforce, TapID currently supports English, Sinhala, Tamil, and Arabic, with additional languages planned for future releases.

“Every business opportunity begins with a simple conversation, but too many valuable connections are lost in the noise. TapID was inspired by this observation and is intended to bridge this gap and ease the networking process. We envision helping individuals build stronger professional networks while enabling businesses to retain valuable customer relationships. TapID combines multiple networking tools in one seamless platform and demonstrates that we are equipped to build world-class technology in Sri Lanka that can compete on a global stage,” said Milinda Lokuge, Founder and Managing Director of Synapseus Technologies.

More than a digital business card, TapID combines two-way contact exchange, built-in CRM capabilities, real-time analytics, and a structured 24-7-30 follow-up approach, helping professionals turn initial interactions into lasting business relationships.

The platform is designed for both individuals and organisations. Professionals can use TapID to grow and manage their networks, while businesses can standardise team branding, strengthen customer engagement, and improve sales and follow-up processes through a centralised platform.

TapID also offers a premium range of NFC products, including digital business cards, QR codes, NFC coin stickers, and compact 6mm NFC stickers. These products are available in a range of refined finishes, including natural wood and brushed metal.
BOI Calls for Daily Commitment to Environmental Protection and Sustainable Production
The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka (BOI) marked Environment Day with an awareness and action programme held at the BOI Auditorium, where Director General Dr. Sulakshana Jayawardena called on BOI staff to treat environmental protection as a daily responsibility rather than a once-a-year observance.

Addressing officials, Dr. Jayawardena emphasised that environmental and production challenges cannot be resolved overnight and that lasting progress requires sustained and consistent effort. He stressed that protecting land and the environment is a responsibility that must be upheld every day rather than addressed only periodically.

As the apex organisation responsible for attracting foreign direct investment while safeguarding Sri Lanka’s sustainability standards, the BOI has a particular responsibility to ensure that enterprises operating under its purview follow credible and evidence-based environmental and production practices.

Dr. Jayawardena highlighted Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and sustainable supply chain management as key areas where BOI enterprises should demonstrate continuous improvement through measurable and verifiable evidence rather than assurances alone.

He also emphasised the importance of working in harmony with the natural environment, noting that ecosystems themselves provide valuable lessons in resilience and adaptation. He pointed out that Sri Lanka possesses the necessary administrative resources to support environmental initiatives and encouraged officials to make effective use of the tools and authority available to them to create meaningful change.

Following the Director General’s address, officials engaged in a discussion on the way forward. The BOI reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening quality production processes supported by robust evidence of Good Manufacturing Practices, enhancing the role of the Department of Environment in implementation, promoting sustainable land-use practices across its enterprise network, and incorporating traditional knowledge into contemporary environmental and production strategies.

The programme reinforced the BOI’s broader commitment to balancing investment promotion with environmental responsibility and sustainable economic development in Sri Lanka.
