Giga Foods has expanded its multi-brand restaurant portfolio in Malabe with the opening of Solo Bowl and Indian Affair, further increasing the dining options available to one of Sri Lanka’s fastest-growing communities.
The expansion reflects Giga Foods’ strategy of bringing its diverse restaurant concepts closer to customers while responding to changing dining preferences. By introducing two distinct brands at the new location, the company continues to strengthen its presence in key urban centres and offer greater convenience and choice.
Solo Bowl features a contemporary menu of wholesome rice bowls, fried rice, pasta, salads and Asian-inspired favourites, catering to customers looking for fresh and convenient everyday meals.
Complementing the offering, Indian Affair serves authentic Indian cuisine, including signature biryanis, flavourful curries and traditional favourites prepared with aromatic spices and authentic recipes.
The new outlets are positioned to serve Malabe’s growing residential, educational and business communities, providing customers with greater variety and consistent quality through two established restaurant concepts.
As Malabe continues its rapid development, the latest expansion highlights Giga Foods’ ongoing investment in strategically important locations and its focus on meeting evolving customer demand through operational excellence.
The addition of Solo Bowl and Indian Affair further strengthens Giga Foods’ vision of creating diverse and memorable dining experiences while contributing to the continued growth of Sri Lanka’s modern restaurant industry.
Singer Sri Lanka PLC and Fairfirst Insurance Launch Sri Lanka’s First In-Store Motor Insurance Solution
Singer Sri Lanka PLC and Fairfirst Insurance Ltd. have partnered to introduce a new motor insurance experience in Sri Lanka, allowing customers to access insurance services directly through Singer showrooms across the island.
The new solution enables customers to purchase motor insurance by simply scanning a QR code at their nearest Singer showroom, with the process supported by digitally enabled systems designed to make insurance access faster and more convenient.
Available across Singer’s network of more than 425 showrooms, the service aims to simplify the insurance purchasing process by reducing paperwork and creating a more seamless and transparent customer journey.
The partnership combines Fairfirst’s insurance expertise with Singer’s extensive nationwide retail network, making motor insurance solutions more accessible to customers beyond traditional urban centres.
The initiative is also expected to help bridge accessibility gaps in communities where insurance services may not always be readily available. Customers can now explore motor insurance options within familiar Singer retail locations in their own areas.
Commenting on the partnership, Singer Sri Lanka PLC Group Managing Director Mahesh Wijewardene said the company has consistently focused on making essential products and services more accessible to Sri Lankans. He noted that the collaboration with Fairfirst allows Singer to transform its extensive showroom network into a broader service platform while providing greater convenience to customers.
Fairfirst Insurance CEO Ravishankar Wickneswaran said the company believes insurance should be accessible, simple and relevant to every community. He added that the partnership with Singer will allow Fairfirst to reach more customers across the country and improve awareness of available insurance solutions.
The collaboration marks a significant step towards making motor insurance more accessible and digitally convenient for customers across Sri Lanka, while demonstrating how traditional retail networks can evolve into broader customer service platforms.
