South Asia’s leading international textile sourcing and garment manufacturing technology exhibition, Intex–InMac Sri Lanka 2026, has officially opened at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), bringing together global textile and apparel industry players to showcase the latest innovations and technologies.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Minister of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development Sunil Handunnetti, who called on Sri Lanka’s textile and apparel industry to embrace innovation and adaptability to strengthen its position in the global marketplace.
Following the opening ceremony, the Minister, together with ambassadors, representatives of business chambers and trade associations, exhibitors and international buyer delegations, toured the exhibition. They also officially opened the Incredible Textiles of India Pavilion, one of the event’s key attractions, highlighting India’s diverse textile capabilities and latest innovations.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Handunnetti said competitiveness in the textile and apparel sector can no longer be measured by production capacity alone.
“Competitiveness is driven not by capacity alone, but by innovation and adaptability. Intex 2026 provides the platform for the industry to embrace these strengths and compete successfully in the global marketplace.”
Industrial Development Board (IDB) Chairman Yasas Hewage said the exhibition demonstrates Sri Lanka’s commitment to industrial transformation through innovation, stronger domestic industries and expanded business opportunities.
He added that the IDB is focused on creating an enabling environment for sustainable industrial growth while helping manufacturers improve productivity and strengthen their international competitiveness.
Over 250 Exhibitors from 15+ Countries
Held from August 5 to 7, Intex–InMac Sri Lanka 2026 has attracted more than 250 exhibitors from over 15 countries and regions, making it the largest international textile sourcing and garment manufacturing technology platform hosted in Sri Lanka to date.
The exhibition features a wide range of products, technologies and solutions covering the textile and apparel value chain, including apparel fabrics, yarns, fibres, denim, garment accessories, textile dyes and chemicals, digital textile printing technologies and manufacturing machinery.
By connecting international suppliers, manufacturers, buyers and industry stakeholders, Intex–InMac Sri Lanka 2026 provides a platform for exploring new technologies, developing business partnerships and identifying opportunities to strengthen Sri Lanka’s textile and apparel sector in global markets.
