The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra is designed to deliver a balance of performance, portability, durability and premium design in an exceptionally lightweight package.

The laptop features an ultra-portable chassis made from AZ31B magnesium-aluminium alloy, a material commonly used in aerospace and Formula 1 applications. It is further enhanced with a Nano Ceramic surface featuring a 9H hardness rating, adding durability while maintaining a premium finish.

Despite its lightweight construction, the ExpertBook Ultra integrates up to an Intel® Core™ Ultra X9 processor from Series 3, a powerful GPU, an advanced NPU delivering up to 50 TOPS, and ASUS ExpertCool Pro thermal technology.

The system can sustain up to 50W of CPU performance under demanding workloads, while the chassis starts at just 0.99kg and measures only 10.9mm thin. Next-generation PCIe® Gen 5 storage and ultra-high-speed LPDDR5X memory further enhance its performance and responsiveness.

As a Copilot+ PC, the ExpertBook Ultra is designed to support AI-powered productivity and demanding executive workflows, helping users handle complex workloads while maintaining a highly portable form factor.

3K OLED Display and Dolby Atmos Audio

The ExpertBook Ultra features a 14-inch 3K 120Hz anti-glare Tandem OLED touchscreen capable of reaching up to 1,400 nits of brightness. The display is designed to deliver vivid colours, detailed visuals and improved power efficiency compared with conventional OLED panels.

For audio, ASUS has equipped the laptop with a six-speaker Dolby Atmos® system, providing immersive sound and clear voice reproduction for video conferences, presentations and other professional applications.

With its combination of AI-powered performance, ultra-portable construction, enterprise-grade features and premium multimedia capabilities, the ExpertBook Ultra is positioned as ASUS' flagship business laptop for Sri Lankan professionals and business leaders.
SLIIT’s ICAC Advances to a Fully IEEE-Supported International Conference
The Faculty of Computing at the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) has announced that its International Conference on Advancements in Computing (ICAC) will be held in 2026 as the IEEE International Conference on Advancements in Computing, following the conference’s transition to full IEEE sponsorship.

The eighth edition of ICAC is scheduled to take place on December 9–10, 2026, at SLIIT Malabe, bringing together researchers, academics and industry professionals from Sri Lanka and around the world to exchange ideas and explore developments across computing and information technology.

Since its establishment in 2019, ICAC has operated under IEEE Sri Lanka technical co-sponsorship for each edition from 2019 to 2025. For 2026, this relationship has been elevated to full IEEE sponsorship, marking a significant milestone in the conference’s development from a SLIIT-hosted event into an internationally endorsed research platform.

ICAC originated from SLIIT’s National Conference on Technology & Management, which was held for a decade before evolving into ICAC in 2019. The conference has continued annually since then, including fully virtual editions during 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Seven Years of Research and Innovation

Between 2019 and 2025, the conference series published more than 600 peer-reviewed research papers indexed in IEEE Xplore and Scopus. It has attracted more than 1,000 participants over the years and featured more than 20 keynote and invited speakers from leading international institutions, including the University of Auckland, Imperial College London, Middlesex University London and Kyushu University.

ICAC has also developed a Google Scholar h-index of 16, with its annual research programme covering between 11 and 17 areas across computing and emerging technologies. These have included artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, computer vision, the Internet of Things and quantum computing.

Strengthening SLIIT’s Research Profile

The move to full IEEE sponsorship comes as SLIIT continues to expand its research activities and international academic presence.

The university now produces more than 300 Scopus-indexed research papers annually and was ranked joint-third among Sri Lankan universities, including both state and private institutions, in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026. This represents the highest ranking achieved by a private university in Sri Lanka.

Several SLIIT researchers have also been recognised among the world’s top 2% of scientists in the Stanford–Elsevier rankings, further highlighting the institution’s growing research capabilities.

The full IEEE sponsorship of ICAC 2026 represents another significant milestone for SLIIT’s research community and strengthens the conference’s position as an international platform for advancing research and innovation in computing.
