Sri Lankan-born entrepreneur Eshan Jayamanne has raised $9 million in funding for his San Francisco-based construction technology startup Krane, an AI-native platform redefining construction supply chain management.

The funding round was co-led by Glasswing Ventures and Link Ventures, with participation from Tunitas Ventures, Rosecliff Ventures, New Normal Ventures, along with a group of strategic angel investors.

Founded and led by CEO Jayamanne, Krane is designed to de-risk the construction supply chain by integrating submittals, procurement, lead times, and deliveries into a unified, real-time system. Acting as an embedded operations layer, the platform automates material planning, procurement, and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

At the heart of Krane is a suite of specialised AI agents, each managing a key component of the materials workflow. These include Milo, which converts specifications, drawings, and schedules into comprehensive submittal and procurement logs within minutes; Arlo, which consolidates project data into a single platform for enhanced preconstruction planning; and Chase, which proactively coordinates with trade partners to prioritise submittals and validate timelines.

Additional agents such as Lana ensure consistency and quality in submittals through templates and automated checks, while Rio optimises delivery scheduling and resource utilisation. Theo oversees the entire procurement cycle, from request-for-proposal (RFP) creation and quote comparison to final delivery.

Krane is now expanding its capabilities beyond procurement and delivery coordination to serve owners and subcontractors more directly, extending visibility and control across the broader construction value chain.

Currently, the platform supports more than $15 billion in active projects across the United States and Canada, spanning sectors including healthcare, data centres, K–12 education, and biotechnology.
