The partnership introduces a wide range of flexible and convenient payment options, allowing customers to pay insurance premiums via Google Pay, QR code scanning, Tap & Pay solutions, split payments, flexible instalment plans, and seamless bank transfers facilitated through Allianz Insurance agents. Designed to reduce friction across the insurance journey, the solution provides customers with greater accessibility, control, and convenience.

Insurance agents are also empowered through this initiative, enabling them to visit customers and facilitate secure card-based and QR-based digital payments on-site. Sarvodaya Development Finance PLC has announced the appointment of Ms. Sashi Adele Schaffter as a Non-Executive, Non-Independent Director with effect from 2 April 2026. She will represent the shareholder of the Company, Janashakthi Ltd (“JXG” – Janashakthi Group).

Ms. Schaffter brings a distinctive blend of legal, financial, and strategic expertise to the Board, supported by experience in corporate finance, advisory services, strategy, and legal research. Her appointment is expected to further strengthen the Board’s capacity to support the Company’s strategic direction and governance priorities as it continues to expand its role within Sri Lanka’s financial services sector.

A UK-qualified Barrister, Ms. Schaffter was called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple with Distinction. Her professional background reflects a strong interdisciplinary foundation, combining legal training with practical exposure to corporate finance and strategic advisory work.

She currently serves as Vice President – Corporate Finance at First Capital Holdings PLC, where she is part of the First Capital Advisory Services team. In this capacity, she contributes to the delivery of financial and strategic solutions, with a focus on complex corporate transactions and advisory mandates. She is also an advocate for financial empowerment, as well as mental health and well-being.

Prior to this, Ms. Schaffter served as Apprentice Director at JXG, where she led group-level strategic planning initiatives and supported long-term organisational development efforts. Her experience across both financial and strategic functions is expected to bring valuable insight to the Board of Sarvodaya Development Finance PLC.

Her academic credentials further underscore her professional profile. She holds an LLB (Hons) from SOAS, University of London, and an LLM in Human Rights from Queen Mary University of London.

The appointment comes at a time when strong governance, strategic oversight, and informed financial leadership remain central to Sri Lanka’s evolving financial landscape.
