CEAT Kelani Holdings has expanded its premium retail network beyond the Western Province with the opening of its latest Shop-in-Shop (SIS) outlet, ‘Sumidag Prime’, on Negombo Road, Kurunegala.
Located near Welagedara College in Malkaduwawa, the new outlet brings CEAT’s premium tyre range and professional automotive services closer to customers in the Kurunegala region. It is the company’s 14th SIS premium retail outlet in Sri Lanka and forms part of its ongoing efforts to create a more convenient and customer-focused tyre purchasing and servicing experience.
The launch also marks a new milestone in CEAT’s long-standing partnership with Sumidag, one of its established dealer partners. Founded in 1986 by Ajith Karunarathna, Sumidag partnered with CEAT shortly after the tyre brand entered the Sri Lankan market. Over more than three decades, the business has grown into one of CEAT’s leading dealer partners and a major distributor of CEAT two-wheeler tyres in the Kurunegala region.
With the opening of Sumidag Prime, the partnership enters its next phase under the leadership of the next generation of the Karunarathna family. Led by Chamod Karunarathna, the business is placing renewed emphasis on growth, customer experience and service excellence.
Developed according to CEAT’s premium Shop-in-Shop concept, Sumidag Prime transforms the conventional multi-brand dealer environment into a dedicated CEAT retail destination.
The outlet features extensive interior and exterior branding, an illuminated brand façade, upgraded roofing and glazing, enhanced lighting, modern furniture, dedicated tyre display racks and interactive merchandising features. A customer lounge has also been incorporated to provide greater comfort while vehicles are being serviced.
Customers at the new outlet will have access to a wide range of CEAT tyres at competitive discounts, together with modern tyre and wheel servicing technology. Available services include nitrogen and air inflation, wheel alignment, wheel balancing, camber and caster adjustments, as well as alloy wheels and batteries.
The facility also includes a dedicated car park, adding to the convenience and accessibility of the new premium retail destination for customers in Kurunegala and surrounding areas.
