SL-China Business Co-operation Council elects new office bearers for 2025/26
The Sri Lanka China Business Co-operation Council (SLCBCC) recently held its 26th Annual General Meeting and elected Indika Salgado as President for the 2025/26 term, alongside other office bearers and members of the Executive Council.

The newly appointed committee brings extensive experience and expertise aimed at strengthening the Council’s strategic direction, enhancing member value, and improving overall service delivery. Newly elected President Indika Salgado expressed confidence that the team will drive the Council towards new milestones, deepen partnerships, and deliver greater benefits to its membership.

The AGM saw strong participation from members, both physically and virtually, reflecting continued engagement and commitment to the Council’s objectives. The new leadership team assumed duties with immediate effect.

Salgado also acknowledged the contributions of outgoing Executive Council members, thanking them for their service. He noted that while the Council has achieved several milestones—including the introduction of the Trusted Trader Certification in collaboration with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT)—its flagship event was not held due to prevailing national circumstances. Reviving this event has been identified as a key priority for the year.

He further announced that the SLCBCC has been granted VIP status at China’s Canton Fair. Under his leadership, the Council plans to expand trade engagement with Chinese exhibitions and introduce new initiatives such as training programs and workshops for members.
