Ceylinco Life Breaks Ground on 36th Company-Owned Green Building in Kirindiwela
Ceylinco Life has commenced construction of its 36th company-owned branch building with the laying of the foundation stone for a new eco-friendly facility in Kirindiwela, reaffirming the life insurer's continued investment in sustainable infrastructure and enhanced customer service.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Chairman R. Renganathan, Managing Director/CEO Thushara Ranasinghe, members of the Board of Directors, senior management, valued customers and distinguished guests from the Kirindiwela area.

Driven by its commitment to providing superior customer service in purpose-built environments, Ceylinco Life has consistently invested in company-owned branch buildings that serve as flagship customer service centres. Upon completion, the Kirindiwela facility will become part of the company's network of 36 company-owned branches, further strengthening its nationwide presence.

The new branch will be constructed on company-owned land in line with Ceylinco Life's green building concept, incorporating environmentally responsible design principles and energy-efficient technologies.

Spanning 3,440 square feet, the building will utilise locally developed prefabricated construction technology from the National Engineering Research and Development Centre (NERD). It is also designed to operate entirely on a 100% self-sufficient solar power system, eliminating dependence on the national electricity grid.

The eco-friendly facility will feature several sustainable design elements, including natural ventilation, a layout that complements the site's natural topography, green landscaping with grass-filled interlocking paving blocks, energy-efficient lighting and air-conditioning systems, and a rainwater harvesting system.

In addition, the building will be equipped with a Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) to recycle wastewater for toilet flushing and landscape irrigation. Ceylinco Life will also adopt a reuse strategy for selected air-conditioning and electronic equipment, further reducing its environmental footprint.

The branch will provide parking for more than 10 vehicles, offering greater convenience for customers visiting the facility.

Ceylinco Life said the Kirindiwela project reflects its continued commitment to integrating modern construction techniques and sustainable technologies across its operations while enhancing operational efficiency, environmental responsibility and customer satisfaction. The development further reinforces the company's long-term strategy of investing in future-ready infrastructure that delivers both business value and lasting benefits to the communities it serves.
