AURA XIV, the annual talent showcase celebrating the creativity and artistic brilliance of the chemists of the College of Chemical Sciences (CCS), Institute of Chemistry Ceylon, was held in grand style at the Malalasekara Theatre Hall on December 21.
The event featured energetic performances, soulful musical renditions, and visually captivating acts, each reflecting the dedication and passion of the students. Every performance was met with enthusiastic applause, underscoring the remarkable talent within the CCS student body.
AURA XIV was a resounding success, leaving the audience both entertained and inspired, while fostering a strong sense of unity, creativity, and pride within the CCS community.

MSTI Maritime Academy Launches Sri Lanka’s Most Advanced Full-Mission Bridge Simulator
Established in 1986 as Sri Lanka’s first privately owned maritime training school, MSTI Maritime Academy has built a distinguished legacy of over three decades in producing globally competent seafarers.

The Academy recently celebrated a major milestone with the inauguration of its state-of-the-art Full Mission Bridge Simulator, the most advanced maritime bridge simulator currently available in Sri Lanka.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Janitha Ruwan Kodithuwakku, Deputy Minister of Ports and Civil Aviation, as Chief Guest, along with Captain Ajith Peiris, Chairman of MSTI, senior officials from the maritime and port sectors, industry partners, maritime professionals, academics, and members of the media.
Manufactured by Wärtsilä-NTPro, a global leader in maritime simulation technology, the new simulator offers a fully immersive 360-degree bridge environment, advanced navigation and ship-handling systems, communication consoles, and specialized simulations for tug-handling and escort operations.
The addition of this cutting-edge facility underscores MSTI’s commitment to delivering world-class maritime training and preparing seafarers for the challenges of modern shipping operations.
