Dialog Enterprise, the corporate solutions arm of Dialog Axiata PLC and Sri Lanka’s leading ICT solutions provider, has partnered with Star Garments Pvt Ltd to enable next-generation textile manufacturing through advanced 5G-powered solutions.
The collaboration aims to enhance operational efficiency, automation, and real-time decision-making across Star Garments’ production ecosystem by leveraging high-speed, low-latency 5G connectivity.
Through this initiative, Dialog Enterprise is supporting the transition towards a fully digital, intelligent, and responsive manufacturing environment. The deployment focuses on integrating Industrial IoT (IIoT), real-time analytics, and smart factory capabilities to modernise existing systems and improve production agility.
The adoption of 5G technology represents a significant milestone for Sri Lanka’s textile industry. With ultra-low latency, high bandwidth, and the ability to connect thousands of devices simultaneously, 5G enables seamless communication between machines, sensors, and systems on the factory floor. This facilitates real-time data exchange, predictive maintenance, and AI-driven quality control, helping improve productivity while reducing downtime and operational costs.
In addition, 5G-enabled smart manufacturing supports enhanced automation, robotics integration, and digital twin capabilities. These allow manufacturers such as Star Garments to simulate, monitor, and optimise production processes in real time, resulting in improved product quality, stronger supply chain visibility, and greater flexibility in meeting global demand.
Commenting on the partnership, Jeevith Senaratne, Chief Operating Officer of Star Garments Pvt Ltd, said the collaboration with Dialog Enterprise enables the company to modernise its manufacturing operations and embrace Industry 4.0 technologies. He noted that 5G integration enhances visibility, reduces inefficiencies, and positions the company to deliver higher-quality products while responding faster to market demands.
Navin Pieris, Group Chief Officer at Dialog Enterprise, stated that the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to enabling Sri Lanka’s industrial sector with future-ready digital infrastructure. He added that the partnership empowers Star Garments to transition into a smart manufacturing model driven by real-time intelligence, automation, and connected systems, strengthening efficiency, innovation, and global competitiveness.
