Prima Sunrise reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing emerging sporting talent by sponsoring the Sri Lanka Regional Junior Open Golf Championship 2026, organised by Sri Lanka Golf and held over three days at the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club from 8–10 May.

The championship brought together some of the country’s most promising junior golfers, showcasing strong performances across all categories. In the Boys’ Gold Division, Reshan Algama claimed the title with a total score of 216, delivering consistent rounds of 72, 71, and 73. Lavidu Premarathna of Lyceum International School, Anuradhapura, finished as runner-up with a closely contested total of 218, while Adithya Weerasinghe of Ananda College secured third place with a score of 219, also recording the tournament’s best second-round performance of 69.

The Girls’ Gold and Silver Combined Division produced equally competitive results, with Sithara Lorance of Digana International School emerging as champion on her home course in Digana, finishing with a total score of 266. She maintained consistent form throughout the tournament, holding off strong challenges from Anumi Karunathilake of Good Shepherd Convent, Kandy, and Genuli Weerakoon of Lyceum International School, Anuradhapura, who both finished tied for runner-up position with scores of 274.
