In the spirit of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year, SLT-MOBITEL reaffirmed its commitment to community upliftment through a meaningful Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiative at Sri Rathanasara Vidyalaya in Kalapitiyagama, Hadunuwawa—an area recently impacted by natural disaster.

Blending festive goodwill with a vision for digital inclusion, the initiative aimed to empower rural students by enhancing access to modern learning tools while restoring hope and positivity within the school community during a period of recovery and renewal. Following the disaster, the school faced significant challenges in sustaining learning continuity. In response, SLT-MOBITEL extended its support to strengthen the school’s educational foundation by improving access to essential digital resources and upgrading the overall learning environment.

Serving approximately 90 students, Sri Rathanasara Vidyalaya currently operates with limited technological infrastructure. To address this gap, SLT-MOBITEL revitalized the school’s computer laboratory, provided new computer equipment, and established reliable internet connectivity, enabling uninterrupted digital learning for both students and teachers.

Extending its support beyond digital empowerment, the company also enriched the school’s library with book donations and provided essential school supplies to assist students in their daily academic activities.

Adding a festive dimension to the initiative, an Avurudu Uthsawaya was held within the school premises. The celebration, featuring traditional games, cultural activities, and moments of joy, created a vibrant atmosphere where students experienced the true spirit of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year—filled with happiness, unity, and togetherness.
