Marking 25 years of trust, growth, and service excellence, HNB Assurance PLC has unveiled its new corporate identity, transitioning to HNB Life PLC—a strategic evolution that reflects the company’s forward-looking vision and commitment to empowering lives with protection and the freedom to thrive.

The milestone represents more than a rebrand, signalling a deliberate transformation built on strong performance in recent years, during which the company has achieved significant growth, strengthened its market position, and enhanced its customer-centric capabilities.

The newly introduced logo, inspired by the form of a wing, symbolises HNB Life’s role as a proactive enabler—supporting individuals to navigate life’s journey with confidence while pursuing their aspirations on their own terms.

The official unveiling took place at a launch event attended by key stakeholders, business partners, well-wishers, and employees.

Stuart Chapman, Chairman of HNB Life, highlighted the significance of the transformation, noting that the transition reflects the company’s strategic intent to evolve alongside changing customer needs and market dynamics. He added that the new identity reinforces its purpose of enabling individuals to achieve their aspirations with confidence and security, building on a strong foundation established over the past 25 years.

The company also introduced its new vision: “To be the leader in empowering lives with protection and freedom to thrive, no matter where life takes them.” Emphasising this direction, Chapman stated that the vision serves as a guiding force for the organisation, focusing on making insurance more accessible, relevant, and aligned with the everyday aspirations of Sri Lankans, while driving the company forward into a future of growth and opportunity.
Allianz Avurudu Negam returns, easing the journey home for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year
During the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season—a time defined by togetherness, tradition, and returning home—Allianz Insurance Lanka Limited once again strengthened its community engagement through the return of its Avurudu Negam initiative for the second consecutive year, expanding its support for families travelling during the festive period.

Building on the success of last year’s programme, Allianz Avurudu Negam 2026 was designed to make the journey home more meaningful and affordable. As part of the initiative, Allianz offered ticket refunds to eligible passengers travelling on the Galu Kumari train service from Maradana, supporting those heading home to celebrate Avurudu with their loved ones.

Passengers boarding from Maradana and Fort and travelling beyond Galle up to Belliatta qualified for the refund, easing travel costs during a time when expenses are typically high. Recognising that financial pressures often continue even after the festive season, Allianz extended the refund window until 30 April, helping passengers manage the cost of returning to Colombo after the holidays.

Adding a cultural touch to the initiative, traditional oil cakes were distributed to passengers boarding from Maradana, allowing families to carry a symbol of Avurudu traditions back home and share it during their celebrations.

Beyond convenience and affordability, Allianz also focused on safety and protection. Eligible passengers were offered free personal accident insurance cover, reinforcing the importance of protection beyond the journey itself. In addition, participants were entered into an LKR 1 million raffle draw, with the winner set to receive shopping vouchers redeemable at outlets of their choice—extending the spirit of support beyond the New Year season.
