The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has introduced an online Complaint Management System (CMS), marking a key step toward improving the way financial consumers submit and manage complaints against Financial Service Providers (FSPs) regulated by the bank.
The new system is designed to strengthen accountability, efficiency, and transparency within the complaint-handling framework. It allows financial consumers to submit grievances in a structured and standardized format, enabling more effective regulatory oversight and faster resolution of issues.
Through the CMS platform, users can lodge complaints online at any time, reducing dependence on physical documentation and helping to minimise processing delays. The system also enables complainants to track the status and progress of their submissions, providing greater visibility throughout the resolution process.
According to CBSL guidelines, financial consumers must first raise their concerns directly with the relevant Financial Service Provider. Complaints can be escalated to the Central Bank through the CMS only if the issue remains unresolved or if the response from the provider is considered unsatisfactory.
The Central Bank has advised users to ensure that all complaints are clear, accurate, and supported with relevant documentation to facilitate smooth and efficient handling.
Jyoti Structures and Hayleys Fentons Sign Agreement for Mannar–Mullikulam 220kV Double Circuit Transmission Line Project
Jyoti Structures Limited, as the lead partner, together with Hayleys Fentons Limited—Sri Lanka’s leading Solar EPC and MEP contractor—has signed a joint venture agreement for the construction of the Mannar–Mullikulam 220kV Double Circuit Transmission Line.
The contract marks the first award issued by the newly established National Transmission Network Service Provider (Private) Limited (NTNSP) under the Mullikulam Wind Power Transmission Project.
The project is aimed at developing critical transmission infrastructure to evacuate electricity generated by the Mullikulam Wind Power projects into Sri Lanka’s national grid. Once completed, the transmission line is expected to strengthen grid reliability, support large-scale renewable energy integration, and contribute to the country’s long-term energy sustainability goals.
Commenting on the partnership, Amit Dutta said the company is proud to collaborate with Hayleys Fentons on this landmark initiative, highlighting its expertise in high-voltage transmission systems and commitment to delivering a resilient network that supports Sri Lanka’s renewable energy ambitions.
Hasith Prematillake described the agreement as a strong vote of confidence in Sri Lanka’s energy future, noting that the transmission line will serve as a vital link in channeling wind power from the North into the national grid. He also highlighted the company’s parallel 50MW wind project in Mannar as part of its broader contribution to the country’s clean energy transition.
Roshane Perera added that the project represents a strategic step for the company as it expands into infrastructure development, providing new growth opportunities and strengthening engineering capabilities in power transmission and distribution projects.
