Allianz Lanka has concluded a large-scale island-wide road safety awareness initiative aimed at promoting responsible driving among three-wheeler operators across Sri Lanka.

The campaign engaged over 7,000 three-wheeler drivers across nearly 60 locations, reinforcing the vital role they play in the country’s daily transport network and community livelihoods.

Designed as more than a standard awareness programme, the initiative used visible road messaging to deliver a strong reminder on accident prevention and safe driving practices. At its core was a bilingual Sinhala and Tamil message encouraging drivers to prioritise life and eliminate road accidents.

As part of the programme, Allianz Lanka also provided participating drivers with free one-year Accidental Death cover, offering additional financial protection for those who spend long hours on the road.

By engaging drivers directly across multiple regions, the campaign helped spark wider conversations on road safety, accident prevention and responsible driving behaviour. Each sticker placed served as a continuous reminder of the importance of safer decision-making on the road.

Through initiatives of this nature, Allianz Lanka continues to extend its role beyond insurance, focusing on public safety awareness, community support and contributing to safer road environments across the country.

Allianz Lanka is a wholly owned subsidiary of Allianz SE, a global financial services leader in insurance and asset management headquartered in Munich. Allianz SE has been ranked as the world’s number one insurance brand for seven consecutive years according to Interbrand’s Best Global Brands ranking.
Bairaha Farms PLC Strengthens Climate Transparency Standards in Sri Lanka’s Poultry Sector
Bairaha Farms PLC has achieved a significant milestone in corporate sustainability by obtaining Greenhouse Gas (GHG) verification at the organisational level with a “reasonable level of assurance,” under the ISO 14064 framework.

This recognition places the company among the leading poultry businesses in Sri Lanka to meet the higher and more rigorous level of climate reporting assurance, demonstrating strong credibility in carbon footprint measurement and environmental transparency.

The ISO 14064 framework defines two levels of assurance, with “reasonable assurance” representing the more stringent standard. By achieving this level, Bairaha Farms PLC has reinforced the accuracy, transparency and integrity of its greenhouse gas reporting, positioning itself at the forefront of climate accountability within Sri Lanka’s poultry production sector.

The verification confirms that the company’s greenhouse gas statement has been prepared in compliance with ISO 14064-1:2018, the internationally recognised standard for quantifying and reporting emissions and removals at an organisational level, and independently verified under ISO 14064-3:2019.

The certification was issued by the Sri Lanka Climate Fund under the purview of the Ministry of Environment, making Bairaha Farms PLC the only poultry company to achieve this level of verification under the ministry’s oversight. The certificate was formally presented in early 2026 at the Secretary’s Office of the Ministry of Environment.

The presentation was made by K. R. Uduwawala and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Climate Fund, in the presence of senior officials including Acting CEO Harshani Abeyrathna, Assistant Manager (Project and Quality Management) Yashodha Lekamge and Project Executive Madhubhashini Gunathilaka.

Managing Director of Bairaha Farms PLC Yakooth Naleem said the verification marks a defining moment for the company, highlighting its commitment to transparency, accountability and sustainable business practices as it continues its long-standing contribution to Sri Lanka’s food production sector.
