Emirates, the world’s largest international and one of the most profitable airlines, is seeking top-tier aircraft engineering and technical talent from around the world.

The airline will next host roadshows in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on May 19–20 as part of its global recruitment drive.

Experienced technicians are invited to attend the Colombo sessions, where Emirates recruiters will share details about available roles, remuneration, benefits, and life in Dubai. Participants will also have the opportunity to interact directly with Emirates engineers and gain practical insights into career progression, professional development, and working life within the airline.

Aircraft technicians at Emirates are responsible for maintaining both the airline’s own fleet and third-party aircraft under the supervision of licensed aircraft engineers. Candidates are required to have an approved apprenticeship in commercial aircraft maintenance or an equivalent qualification, along with a minimum of five years’ experience.

The airline offers a competitive tax-free salary, profit share eligibility, comprehensive medical and life insurance, education allowances, and concessional cargo and heavily discounted flight tickets for employees, family, and friends. Staff also receive the Emirates Platinum Card, which provides exclusive privileges and discounts across thousands of global brands, retail outlets, hospitality venues, clubs, and clinics.

Emirates Engineering is one of the world’s most advanced aircraft maintenance organisations. GCAA CAR V-approved, it supports Emirates’ Airbus and Boeing fleet—one of the largest in the world—as well as providing third-party maintenance services for more than 30 other airlines.

The international trade exhibition will be held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) in Colombo. The decision to postpone the event was made in light of ongoing geopolitical uncertainties impacting global trade and travel.

Sri Lanka Expo 2027 is the country’s premier international trade exhibition, designed to showcase Sri Lanka’s export capabilities and investment opportunities to a global audience. Domestic exhibitors and international buyers can register via the official website www.srilankaexpo.lk until 31 July 2026.

It aims to highlight Sri Lanka’s diverse export sectors while providing a strategic platform for business leaders, investors, and policymakers to connect.

Sri Lanka Expo 2027 also seeks to strengthen buyer and investor confidence in the country and support its goal of achieving USD 36 billion in exports by 2030. The exhibition will feature a wide range of industries, including apparel, textiles and fashion, gems and jewellery, boat building, engineering and automotive components, rubber and polymer products, electrical and electronic goods, lifestyle and handicrafts, pharmaceutical products, and mineral-based products.

In addition, the event will showcase Sri Lanka’s agricultural strengths, such as tea, spices, coconut-based products, fisheries, processed foods and beverages, Ayurvedic and herbal products, cut flowers and foliage, ornamental fish, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Beyond products, the expo will also highlight the country’s growing services sector, including ICT and business process management, maritime and offshore services, logistics, construction and renewable energy, wellness and healthcare, along with a range of professional services.
