Sri Lanka has sent its largest-ever business delegation to the United States to participate in the SelectUSA Investment Summit, with 14 entrepreneurs and business leaders currently engaging with investors and potential partners.
The US Embassy in Sri Lanka, in a post on X, said: “This year is the largest-ever Sri Lankan delegation to #SelectUSA—14 entrepreneurs and business leaders are in the US right now building networks, exploring investment opportunities, and driving shared prosperity for a stronger US–Sri Lanka economic partnership.”
The delegation is focused on building commercial linkages and exploring opportunities across multiple sectors.
“Sri Lankan businesses are investing in a more open and prosperous future by looking to the US at #SelectUSA! The United States and Sri Lanka are deepening business ties across the healthcare, manufacturing, and digital services sectors - and more - to capitalise on emerging opportunities for economic growth and partnership,” the statement added.
The SelectUSA Investment Summit, organised by the US Department of Commerce, promotes foreign direct investment into the United States and connects global companies with potential partners and regional economic development agencies.
FireCircle by G hosts its first ESG Communications Workshop in Colombo
FireCircle by G, a Colombo-based boutique communications consultancy, will host its inaugural ESG Communications Workshop titled “From Compliance to Brand Equity” on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at the Galle Face Hotel.
The half-day workshop, scheduled from 2.00 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., is limited to 25 participants and targets marketing and brand managers, sustainability and ESG professionals, corporate communications teams, and founders involved in ESG initiatives who are looking to better translate their work into meaningful brand value.
The session comes at a timely moment ahead of World Environment Day, as Sri Lankan organisations face increasing expectations from investors, regulators, and consumers to communicate credible and consistent sustainability efforts.
FireCircle by G Founder and workshop facilitator Gayani Punchihewa noted that while many organisations are already undertaking ESG work, it often remains confined to reporting rather than brand communication.
“Most organisations in Sri Lanka are already doing the work. But ESG sits in reports while brands stay silent. This workshop is about closing that gap, giving teams the language, the framework, and the confidence to make their impact visible,” she said.
Participants will gain a practical communications framework they can immediately apply, including how to differentiate between marketing and impact communications, integrate ESG and SDG narratives into brand storytelling, and use effective language across both corporate and public-facing channels.
