Altair has recently introduced a refined upgrade to its entrance and lobby, enhancing the arrival experience for both residents and visitors. The transformation was designed and executed by Philip Weeraratne Associates (PWA), with a focus on strengthening the development’s premium residential identity while respecting the original architectural vision of Moshe Safdie.
At the entrance, the previous frontage has been reimagined as a bold architectural statement featuring bronze-toned vertical fins, warm ambient lighting, landscaped greenery, and a central branded feature panel. The design introduces rhythm and depth to the façade, while integrated lighting enhances its visual presence during the evening. Soft landscaping and green walls further complement the structure, creating a welcoming, resort-style arrival experience.
Inside, the lobby has been redefined from a transitional space into a more immersive residential lounge environment. While retaining the original triple-height volume, natural light, and restrained material palette, the upgraded design incorporates curated seating arrangements, textured rugs, marble tables, indoor planting, and vertical green elements. These additions create smaller, more intimate zones within the expansive space, adding warmth and comfort.
Key architectural features, including the existing vertical artwork, have been preserved and enhanced by a refined palette of soft neutrals, off-whites, bronze accents, natural stone textures, and greenery. The overall design approach emphasizes understated luxury, achieved through proportion, lighting, materiality, and detailing rather than ornamentation.
Commenting on the design intent, Philip Weeraratne noted that the upgrade aims to create a more cohesive and elevated identity for Altair, blending architecture, interiors, landscape, lighting, and branding into a unified and immersive experience that feels welcoming by day and visually striking at night.
