Sysco LABS recently hosted ‘Product Nexus’, a knowledge-sharing platform under its broader Nexus series, bringing together professionals in Product Management and Business Analysis to explore the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence on enterprise product development.
Held with the support of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) Colombo Chapter as Community Partner, the event examined how AI is reshaping product discovery, design, and delivery, while highlighting the increasing importance of product thinking in driving innovation, business value, and informed decision-making.
The session focused on how organisations can leverage AI to identify opportunities more effectively, accelerate decision-making, and develop products with greater precision, speed, and impact. Discussions also highlighted the evolving role of product thinking in fostering innovation, collaboration, and value creation in an increasingly AI-driven business environment.
The programme featured a keynote knowledge-sharing session by Tharange Abeysinghe, Senior Group Product Manager, followed by a panel discussion with Fawaz Haniffa, Lead Product Manager; Dilshan Weerabahu, Lead Product Manager; Atheek Razick, Senior Lead Business Analyst; and Amila Jayawickrama, Associate Manager – Business Analysis.
The panel discussion was moderated by Vishmie Perera, Business Analyst, while Chamodi Wijewardana, Senior Product Manager, and Malsha Mayadunne, Product Manager, facilitated the event.
Commenting on the significance of the initiative, Senior Director – Delivery, Nilupa Kiringoda, said, “Product thinking today extends well beyond feature development. In enterprise environments, it plays a vital role in driving innovation by encouraging teams to focus on business challenges, customer outcomes, operational efficiency, and long-term value creation. Product teams also work closely with business stakeholders to co-create solutions that deliver meaningful customer and commercial impact. As AI continues to transform the way organisations build and deliver products, forums such as Product Nexus help professionals rethink traditional approaches, embrace innovation-led strategies, and unlock new opportunities across the enterprise.”
